Mother’s day keeps getting closer and that means it’s once again time to say out a special Thank You to those who love us the most: our mothers. In this post you’ll get to read what my mom has to put up with, what a Flobox is and it also includes an exciting giveaway at the end!
There is really no way to thank my mother enough for everything that she has done, is doing and most probably, will do in the future. But for one, she manages to put up with me on a daily basis, and that includes:
- random loud (and terrible) singing sessions throughout the day
- being my only and personal photographer (and doing a magnificent job at it)
- me borrowing her Mascara because I lost mine and then ending up losing her’s too (still sorry about that, by the way)
- it taking her hours and all her nerves to get me out of bed every morning
- the mountain of clothes to iron that keeps getting bigger (as I mentioned in my previous post)
- me being late all the time, simply because of who I am as a person
- and actually much, much more… 😉
Yeah, you could say she’s really blessed to have me. *grins* But besides all that I wouldn’t trade my mom for anything else in this world. Of course we’ve had our good and bad times but what would be the up’s without the down’s? She is my harshest critic, but also the most honest person I rely on. She yells at me, but there’s always a lesson learned from it. She holds me back from certain things and encourages me to do other’s. I’m pretty sure she’d sometimes love to kick my butt but at the same time I know that she loves me unconditionally. And I can confidently say that I’m darn lucky to have her.
And yet, every year I’m faced with the same struggle and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one: what to give my mom for mother’s day? We all know they deserve the world but it’s mostly our budgets that don’t really cooperate with that idea. So what could we possibly give, do or say that will show them just how much they mean to us?
Well, my solution came in a box. Literally.
Flobox is a rather new company that creates beautiful flower arrangements, boxes them and then delivers the set of your choice directly to your front door. I’ve had the great opportunity to test one of their mother’s day boxes and honestly? I fell in love with it.
Even though I love flowers, especially when I receive them as a gift, I’ve always avoided to get them as a mother’s day gift, since I’m not a huge fan of clichés. But the flobox is truly different and it completely changed my mind about that whole no-flowers-on-mothersday-thing. Really. You’re probably thinking: What’s the big deal? And I’m going to tell you:
To begin with, it’s super easy to buy. Just pick one online on their website – whenever and wherever – and you don’t have to worry about making the extra way to the florist. What’s more, you don’t have to scramble for a vase, once they have arrived because they can easily stay in their beautiful box (you can tell it’s great quality) and look absolutely stunning, wherever you put them. We’ve had them sitting on the breakfast table, couch table and in the kitchen so far, and whenever we had guests over there was literally not a single person who didn’t admire them.
I know what you’re asking yourself: but do they stay fresh? And the answer is: YES! I’ve had the box for about two weeks now, and with only watering them a little now and then, they were fine for more than a week! And even now as they’re starting to dry out a little (approx. 2 weeks after arriving) we still keep them, for two simple reasons: Since they’re arranged vertically and in a box, gravity doesn’t cause the flowers to drop their petals so it leaves absolutely no mess. The other reason is that even though they’re losing some of their life they still look strangely unique and give the whole arrangement a nice vintage touch.
Overall, I recommend this gift idea to everyone who wants to be on the safe side but still wants to gift something slightly different yet very special this year. In my opinion, this is the perfect gift for any occasion and since mother’s day is coming up, why not add a self written card to it and surprise your mom with a Flobox?
